After Christmas, around 250 tonnes of Christmas trees are thrown away every year. There is a simple solution to cut back on this waste though – Northumberland County Council have organised drop-off points for you to recycle your tree. They recycle the trees into good quality compost, soil conditioner and wood chippings to be reused around the county. You can take your tree to any HWRCs (Household Waste Recovery Centres) or any of the extended collection points across the North East.
