Last weekend a group of us surveyed the wildlife in our churchyards. It was a lovely afternoon and we were really encouraged to find lots of flowers growing, especially in the ‘unmown’ areas.
For the next few weeks we will highlight some of the things that you can find if you go for a wander around our amazing churchyards.
Red campion is flowering at the moment. It is important for various pollinating insects, including bees, butterflies and hoverflies. You can find out more here – https://www.woodlandtrust.org.uk/trees-woods-and-wildlife/plants/wild-flowers/red-campion/
