Continuing on from last week’s tips we will be looking at more eco-friendly presents as the Christmas season approaches!
First of all, here are a few more websites that are charities or organisations which offer environmentally friendly gifts (and all funds go to a good cause as chosen by the organisation):
Marine Conservation Society – https://www.mcsuk.org/shop/
This charity works towards cleaning our oceans and offers very good quality gifts!
Northumberland wildlife trust – https://www.nwt.org.uk/shop
This charity works closer to home, protecting Northumberland’s wildlife. The website has a lovely shop with lots to offer!
Traidcraft – https://www.traidcraftshop.co.uk/christmas
This organisation is known as the ‘Home of Fairtrade Products’. As the name suggests everything sold is responsibly sourced, but products also make wonderful presents!
Now, looking at something a little different:
RSPB membership – https://www.rspb.org.uk/join
Instead of chocolates or a new bag this year, why not try a membership? You can join the RSPB (who work in supporting and enjoying nature locally) for as low as £5/month. With your membership you receive a free gift and fantastic ‘Nature’s Home’ magazine, what’s not to like? Use the link above to find out more or join today!
On a different note, a link came through from Eco-Church this week for a webinar you might be interested in:
“Wild Christian webinar on 13 November – A Rocha UK is keen to equip our supporters to raise their voices for the environment, in the run up to the UK hosting next year’s UN climate negotiations (aka COP26). Join us for a lunchtime webinar to learn more about the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP), the historical role of the churches campaigning around COPs, and the unique Climate Sunday initiative. Speakers include COP veteran and CEO of A Rocha UK, Andy Atkins, James Anthony, Coordinator of Climate Sunday and Hannah Brown of the Joint Public Issues Team (of Methodists, Baptists, URC and Church of Scotland). Receive a reminder and details on how to join this free webinar closer to the day – register here.”
